Like any sensor they can go faulty and flag up a false warning. The fact the light has gone out and can be cancelled probably means its OK and the DPF has regenerated. Being electronic they are normally mounted some distance away from the hot exhaust but their location can be found by tracing back the two tubes that lead from the DPF. This process is called DPF regeneration or “regen” and typically occurs automatically every 250 to 500 miles. The ECM uses a differential pressure sensor (DPS) to measure the effectiveness and capacity of the DPF. Simply speaking, the DPS measures the difference in pressure before and after the DPF. Speed sensor signal; Pressure sensor signal; The pressure sensor is inside the doser injector on this model. The command signal is created by the Cummins ECM. It provides the path to ground for a 20V signal from the DEF pump for a calculated duty cycle. This is used to keep pressure built up in the system. I guess that on ramps you will have great difficulty in reaching the pressure sensor, provided that it is in the same location as in 2.2. Usually there is a little slack in the hoses. Exp. Sept 2017.
